Speaking of Stephen Fry, the first episode of Planet Word aired Sunday. A documentary series on language.
Quite enjoyable (and interesting, of course). I’ll probably have more to say once the series finishes.
The Making of QI

I’m not a big TV watcher, but one show I tend to be exited about fall after fall is the Stephen Fry hosted panel show QI. I remember being underwhelmed at this time last year, but so far the new series (the “I” according to QI’s encyclopedic designations) has been enjoyable. The premiere was accompanied by a making of special, which really does capture the best qualities of the program and its odd approach to The Wonderful World of Knowing – too often dominated by either stiff and factual documentaries or spineless and fanciful navel-gazing.
